MSH Genesis Matching Investment Funding Overview

Amrita TBI is one of the select implementing agencies of MeitY Startup Hub, Government of India. Under the MSH GENESIS Matching Investment Funding Program, eligible startups can receive a matching investment of up to ₹50,00,000.

Through a 6-month acceleration program, Amrita TBI will help startups connect with and raise investments from venture capitalists and angel investors. For every investment raised from external investors, Amrita TBI (through MeitY Startup Hub) will match the amount up to ₹50 lakhs.

Amrita TBI is a non-profit startup incubator supported by the Government of India and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, dedicated to funding, mentoring, and nurturing ideas, startups, and entrepreneurs.

In 2017, Amrita TBI received the National Award for being the Best Startup Incubator in India.

Listed among the Top 5 most prolific startup incubators in the country by The Economic Times.

Funding Provided

This program supports innovative startups with a 1:1 matching investment of up to ₹50 lakhs, based on external funds raised. Selected startups will participate in a 6-month acceleration program focused on scaling their business. The program concludes with a Demo Day, where startups pitch to an investor panel.

If a startup raises funds during the program or on Demo Day, MeitY Startup Hub will provide a matching investment of up to ₹50 lakhs. The investment will be routed through Amrita TBI.

About MeitY Startup Hub Genesis Program

MeitY Startup Hub, Government of India has envisaged an umbrella scheme called GENESIS (Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups) with a budget of Rs. 490 Crores for 5 years to discover, support, grow and accelerate successful startups in Tier-II and Tier-III cities with emphasis on collaborative engagement among startups, government, and corporates for promoting digitization based on the principals of inclusivity, accessibility, affordability, leading to growth in employment and economic outputs. Amrita TBI will implement the GENESIS scheme on behalf of MSH. This scheme envisages further scaling up and sustaining the tech ecosystem especially to discover, support, grow and make successful startups. The program envisages impacting and consolidating 10,000+ tech start-ups over the course of the next 5 years to pave the road for an inclusive startup ecosystem.

Are you Eligible?

Startup/Idea Eligibility
1. Stage of the Startup:
 ● Must be a registered Indian entity (Private Limited Company) with at least 51% Indian ownership.
 ● Must have a market-ready product and preferably be revenue-generating
 ● Must have a valid DPIIT certificate.
2. Sector Focus:
 ● The proposed startup should work on a tech-based product/software in domains like Deep-tech, AI/ML, Cybersecurity, IoT, Blockchain, Fintech, Ed-tech, or Health-tech.
3. Scalability and Impact:
 ● The startup must be registered in a Tier-II or Tier-III city.

4. Legal Compliance:
 ● Must not be involved in any legal disputes.

5. Originality:
 ● Preference is given to startups with granted patents.

Funding and Financial Eligibility
1. Funding is a 1:1 matching fund ranging from up to 50 lakhs based on external funds raised (government grants are not considered).
2. Cannot be a startup previously supported under the TIDE 2.0 (Scale up) or Samridh schemes.
3. The funding instrument is equity.

Yellow Messenger has created a conversational AI- driven platform to solve the problem of poor customer experiences made for customer support globally by developing a voice bot. The founders had deployed the voice bots for over 700 companies including Amazon as their potential customer. The funds will be used to upgrade their existing technology and establish their presence in the U.S market.
