Start-ups eagerly await the TBI Pitchfest of Amrita University, eye the $200,000 seed investment prize

The Technology Business Incubator(TBI) of Amrita University is organizing the 2017 edition of its pitchfest at the Bengaluru campus from January 27-28. The fifth edition of the annual Amrita TBI Pitchfest would provide a platform for start-ups to showcase their ideas, qualify to receive a seed investment of up to $200,000 and get incubation space at Amrita TBI. The deadline for applications is January 7, 2017.

The Pitchfest is a unique initiative by us to find the most prom¬ising start-ups in the country. The to¬tal seed investment outlay for Amrita TBI Pitchfest 2017 is $200,000, double that of last year".

On Day 1 of the fest, the top 30 selected start-ups will go through a half-day mentorship programme, followed by selection of the top start-ups. On Day 2, the top start-ups will pitch in front of an elite panel of investors and C-level executives.

Amrita TBI will complete the required due-diligence on the three finalists and provide seed investments for quali¬fied start-ups and incuba¬tion space. Prominent part¬ners of the programme are.

The 2016 edition of Amrita TBI Pitchfest attracted more than 700 start-ups from 10 Indian states, mak¬ing it one of the most popular start¬up pitch contests in India. The top start-up winner of the last edition, Preksh Innovations, recently bagged the second position at the K-Startup Grand Challenge in South Korea, in which more than 2,400 start-ups from 124 countries participated.

Amrita Technology Business In-cubator (TBI) was set up in 2008 as a non-profit joint-initiative by the Am¬rita University and the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of In¬dia. The non-profit incubator fluids, mentors and nurtures ideas, start¬ups and entrepreneurs.
