Dr.P Venkat Rangan, Vice Chancellor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, Dr. Rangan founded Yodlee Inc and served as its CEO, for which in 2000, he was selected as one of the 25 best entrepreneurs by the President of United States. Dr. Venkat has been the recipient of President of India’s gold medal from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 1984. As a Ph.D. student in Computer Science he spent a year at Cornell University, where he secured the top-most rank for graduate studies,before moving to University of California, Berkeley. In 1988, his Ph.D. thesis at University of California, Berkeley was judged as the outstanding PhD of the year by IBM.

He has also worked in two entrepreneurial settings (start ups), one of which was ranked as one of Australia's fastest growing small-to-medium sized firms in the Business Review Weekly Fast 100 for three consecutive years and received the Hudson Business Award at the NSW Telstra Business Awards in 2006 - which recognizes Australia's most successful businesses.
