Space Saver Spacer
Invented by Liam Scott and Matthew O’Malley
The Space Saver Spacer is a portable and collapsible large volume asthma spacer that saves about 80% of the room taken up by an equivalent spacer. It allows asthma sufferers to carry their spacer with them at all times in their pocket or handbag, The Space Saver Spacer is made of medical grade silicone whose decreased static properties will improve dosage consistency, is easy to wash and is also durable. The team designed the Space Saver Spacer after remembering that fellow students didn’t take their spacers with them on a school camp because they took up too much room.

Traffic Light for Colour Blind
Invented by Madeline Long
This invention is a traffic light for the colour blind. By using symbols as well as colours, it is easier for drivers, motorcycle riders, bike riders and pedestrians who may have trouble identifying colours and will make it safer for everyone on the roads. The traffic light for the colour blind system is designed as a cover to fit over the existing traffic lights instead of having to replace them. Madeline saw a scene in a movie where the father (a colour blind person) was driving in a hurry and did not notice the traffic light signals and crashed into turning cars. This inspired Madeline to invent a new type of traffic light cover that she believes will help make the roads safer.

Corrugator
Invented by Mickayla Davis & Lachlan Samways
The Corrugator is a hand operated flat bar bending tool. It is able to do angles and multiple bends easily by coming in from the side. There are similar devices as the Corrugator for pipe steel but not for flat steel. The disaster in Haiti in mind, the students were set the task of developing concepts for medium term emergency housing to accommodate people during the years it takes to rebuild cities. The students were then set the challenge of developing a process to build a new type of beam to be used within the emergency housing structure.

Visibility Vest
Invented by Austin Teakel
The invention is designed to provide greater visibility for motorcycle riders. Indicator and braking lights are on the riders back and so are visible at eye level to car drivers.
Austin first thought of this invention after almost being run over by a car while riding his motorcycle. The car driver failed to notice that Austin was indicating and breaking. Austin decided he had to make his intentions more visible.
